why choose Bishopsgate?

“Pupils are extremely well educated in line with the school’s aim to offer a first class education in order that the pupils can be the best that they can be. Encouragement, support and enjoyment characterise the school’s approach to learning and in response pupils thrive and grow in confidence.

The individual and group achievements of pupils outside the classroom are significant. The extremely wide range of opportunities enables pupils to explore new interests and extend their abilities so that they participate successfully at a high level.”

Lower School
Our children, from the age of 3, learn in a bright, spacious, self-contained and well-equipped building staffed by caring and dedicated teachers and assistants. Our carefully planned curriculum lays firm foundations for future success and well-being.

Upper School
A broad curriculum, unfettered by the constraints of the National Curriculum, stretches minds. Strong specialist teaching is offered in all key subjects and is delivered in well-resourced and modern classrooms and specialist facilities. Bishopsgate’s curriculum focuses not just on the academic subjects, but ensures that children who are good at Art, Drama, PE and Design Technology have their potential properly recognised. Acknowledging the importance of developing skills and aptitudes alongside a strong core of knowledge, our curriculum provides scope for children to develop their characters and adopt a positive mindset and a ‘can do’ attitude.

The school has an outstanding record of success in senior school entrance examinations.

Pastoral Care
An excellent Pastoral Care programme nurtures each individual pupil, supporting them through the challenges of school life and preparing them for happy and fulfilled futures. The School’s Values teach children the importance of courtesy and respect.

Pupils’ personal development is excellent from the EYFS right through to Year 8. Rigorous pastoral care systems and arrangements for the safeguarding, welfare, health and safety of all pupils are in place and carefully implemented. The sense of community is very strong, with pupils of all ages thriving in a happy and harmonious environment.”

The Arts
The children’s self-confidence and self-expression are enhanced through an exciting programme of Performing Arts, which combines superb Music, Dance and Drama.

A broad sports programme enables children to reach their full potential in order to be ready for the physical demands of life at Secondary School and beyond. A wide range of sports is played and all children are given opportunities to represent the school in competitive matches. In addition to the major sports, Bishopsgate has a strong record of success in Rowing and Judo.

Bishopsgate’s facilities are first class. The heart of the school remains a large Victorian house, but recent developments have included new classroom blocks for both Lower and Upper Schools, a Design Technology Suite, a new Library and Performing Arts Studio, an all-weather floodlit pitch and a magnificent new 25-metre indoor swimming pool.

The Perfect Setting
Our children learn and play in a beautiful woodland setting on the edge of Windsor Great Park. Our grounds provide a wonderful learning resource, including Forest School, and there are acres of space for healthy play.
