Year 6 Trip to the Globe Theatre
Well, let’s just say that the Year 6 trip to The Globe Theatre was a thrilling Shakespearience! Despite battling a ghastly cauldron of London traffic, which even the Three Witches couldn’t have prophesied, the children were unfazed and launched into our workshop with tremendous enthusiasm.
A tour of the theatre was first on the bill, where the children were lucky enough to watch Mark Rylance doing his thing on stage while rehearsing Othello. After that, they explored freeze framing and body language with two resident actors, who linked the activity to Macbeth with impressive results. A quick bite of lunch on the bank of the Thames, followed by a stroll around The Globe’s exhibition, topped off a wonderful little trip into town – the perfect introduction to the puppet show productions!
